John W. Snead, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S.

Originally from Alabama, Dr. Snead completed his undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. He obtained his internship, residency and fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Snead is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and completed a fellowship in Eye Micro-Surgery in Melbourne, Australia. He also is a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Snead is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American College of Eye Surgeons.

His professional experience includes performing clear corneal sutureless cataract surgery, laser eyelid surgery, laser vision correction, laser skin resurfacing and general ophthalmological care. His personal interests include playing the piano and jogging. He also is fluent in French and travels to France frequently.

Michael J. Collins, Jr., M.D.

Originally from a suburb of Washington D.C., Dr. Collins completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and obtained his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his combined internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Virginia in Roanoke and his eye surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Collins finished his advanced fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Hunkeler Eye Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. As a fellow, he was active in ophthalmic research and played significant investigator roles during numerous FDA clinical trials. An accomplished speaker, Dr. Collins lectures at international meetings on LASIK and refractive surgery, and his work has been published in several professional medical journals.

Licensed in the states of Florida, Georgia, Kansas and Missouri, Dr. Collins is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association.

Dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality eye care, Dr. Collins’ professional interests include performing state-of-the-art corneal, cataract and refractive surgery. His personal interests include golf, fishing and spending time with his family.

Scott R. Prickett, O.D.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Prickett and his family have been in Fort Myers for more than 30 years. He cheered on the Gators while obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiological Sciences at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Prickett achieved his Doctor of Optometry degree from the prestigious University of Houston College of Optometry in Texas.

Dr. Prickett is a member of various academic and optometric organizations. He is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa – National Optometry Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, Southwest Florida Optometric Association. He also achieved membership of undergraduate National Honor Societies, Alpha Epsilon Delta and Phi Eta Sigma.

As a long time Florida resident, Dr. Prickett has chosen to care for patients in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs and Naples since 1991. His extensive experience has placed him on the forefront of optometric technology. He is skilled in all aspects of optometry from prescribing the perfect pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses to diagnosing and treating eye diseases.

Dr. Prickett is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys biking, boating and spending time at the beach. He also enjoys softball, tennis and spending time with his family.

Jay S. Rosen, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Originally from Long Island, Dr. Rosen graduated from the prestigious Cornell University, an Ivy League institution in Ithaca, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Neuro-Biology and Behavior. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from State University of New York (SUNY) where he also served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Chief of Contact Lens Services. He was Residency trained in cornea and contact lenses at University Optometric Center, State College of Optometry, also in New York.

Dr. Rosen is licensed in Florida, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. His experience and expertise is highly sought after as evidenced by his participation on the review boards for Optometry Today and Optometric Management, two well-known trade publications. He also served on an advisory panel to the New York State Optometric Association, State Board of Optometry and Akorn Pharmaceuticals. His work has been published in numerous optometric trade magazines and journals.

Dr. Rosen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and the Association of Contact Lens Educators. He has received numerous awards including Who’s Who in International Medicine, among many others.

On a personal note, Dr. Rosen enjoys attending craft shows, fine arts and theater, playing tennis, bicycling and even has dabbled in Barbershop Quartet. He spends most of his spare time with his wife, Jennifer, and young daughter, Nicole.
